A successful London firm is looking to recruit a senior solicitor into the Projects department to work on high profile PPP/PFI deals for local government clients and to advise on a range of substantial public sector contracts for works and services. The chosen candidate will be required to have the following qualities: detailed knowledge and practical experience of the public procurement rules (including the Public Contracts Regulations 2006); a strong background in large projects work, with a particular interest in education and/or ICT projects; the ability to master complex contracts and regulations with careful attention to details; the ability to negotiate and accurately draft contracts and other documents, sometimes from scratch. The successful applicant will be encouraged to get involved with marketing, client relationship management and business development. On complex projects you will work closely with a Projects partner, while on other matters you will be the lead lawyer and be expected to work with minimal partner supervision or support. You will also undertake a vitally important role in terms of supervising and developing junior lawyers.
